Hair Transplant Surgery In Boca Raton
Men seeking any type of hair restoration, including hair transplants in Florida have trusted Dr. Charles for his skill and high level of patient care. A hair transplantation procedure is basically a two-step procedure done under local anesthesia and usually in one day. In the initial part of the procedure, hairs are harvested to be used for transplantation and in the second part of the same procedure those prepared harvested hair follicular units (grafts) are placed into the recipient site.
The donor site (area where the hair follicles are collected) is usually in the back of the head as these follicles are typically not susceptible DHT which has been shown to cause male pattern baldness in genetically susceptible individuals.
The fore most hair transplantation surgical methods are Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Grafting (FUG). Dr. Glenn Charles pioneered this process for hair transplant patients in and around the Boca Raton area.

The difference in these procedures is how the hair is harvested from the donor site. The placement of the hair follicles into the recipient sites is the same. All options for hair restoration, including transplants are covered in your initial, no-pressure consultation.
Follicular Unit Grafting (FUG) removes a thin strip of hair from the donor area that is dissected into individual grafts which are natural groupings of hair that contain 1, 2 or 3 hairs (follicular units) and are then placed into the recipient sites.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is where each follicular unit is harvested from the back of the head one by one with a tiny .7mm – 1mm punch hole.
